The need to support Floridians with intellectual and developmental disabilities is rapidly growing. With over 500,000 persons with these disabilities in Florida, 30,000 are still on waiting lists for services. One organization in southwest Florida that has been successful in reaching this population is Protected Harbor. For over eleven years, Protected Harbor has successfully provided both residential and community-based programs and services enhanced with Christian values and care.
